Mom has been so adamant about going home and nowhere else that we've been delayed in getting her discharged. I spent the day on the phone with the James social worker, nursing homes, Anthem insurance, and the family, and we're not coming up with a better answer than that she needs to go to skilled nursing in the Cambridge area, although we looked seriously at the option of home care. We've chosen Autumn Healthcare of Cambridge and she should be transferred there tomorrow by ambulance. Dad and Charlie are visiting tonight to make it clear to her that this is the way it's got to be, for now. We understand how much she wants to come home, and we'll make it happen ASAP, but not yet.
We still don't have a pathology report or long-term prognosis. Waiting on it...
